[IRVINE, CA: May 31, 2017] RapidScale, a leader in managed cloud services, welcomes Bob Buchanan to the team as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Bob is based in Raleigh, N.C. and will be responsible for leading RapidScale’s national go-to-market and sales strategy, focused on further accelerating RapidScale’s market position as a leading provider of Desktop as a Service (DaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions. He comes to RapidScale with experience in building, managing and leading direct sales, account management, and channel sales teams.

Fourteen years ago, Bob joined a data center startup, Hosted Solutions, in Raleigh, which was acquired by Windstream in 2010. Bob was introduced to the channel during his time at Windstream, leading the company’s cloud and data center go-to-market strategy within the partner community. In 2015, Windstream divested its data center assets and the Hosted Solutions organization was acquired by TierPoint, where Bob most recently functioned as Vice President of Channel Sales.

The hire of Bob further exemplifies RapidScale’s commitment to the Raleigh market, with other key leaders like Duane Barnes, SVP, Cloud Engineering already located there and plans to strategically grow the Raleigh team with engineering and account management talent. In the near future, the cloud provider will be expanding its office space into a premier facility in downtown Raleigh.
